Review: Forbidden Fling (Wildwood #1) by Skye Jordan

Kumiko Lei     5 Stars, Audiobook, Forbidden Fling, Review, Skye Jordan, Wildwood     No comments

Delaney Hart has come a long way from her wild youth, dating tattooed bikers at her father’s bar, The Bad Seed. But when his death pulls her back to Wildwood, California, she must stay to renovate the dive he left her. And also face the lies and secrets that sent her running ten years before.

When Wildwood’s chief building inspector, Ethan Hayes, shows up on the property, Delaney doesn’t recognize him. The last thing he wants to do is save the bar where his cousin died in a brawl. But the good boy from her past is all too willing to remind her of the bad girl she used to be. And one night of passion leaves them both in a compromising position.

The last place Ethan should be is in Delaney’s bed. Guilt, family pressure, and plans for a brewpub of his own make shutting down The Bad Seed his top priority…until his feelings for Delaney interfere. Because her future depends on the success of the bar’s renovation and his dreams are rooted in its failure, their forbidden romance may be destined for heartbreak

Skye Jordan!

Where the hell have you been all my life?

You know, that one little kid in class that never gets invited to anything?  That's what I feel like right now... but the grown-up book version.

I am the book obsessed woman who never got an invite to the ridiculously sexy, swoon-worthy book boyfriend party that is Skye Jordan's books.

At least I didn't know until after the fact, phew.

Anyhow... let's get on with it, shall we?

Two things to consider about my review:

1. This is an audiobook review.  (Thank you to my Prime Membership and also to Skye Jordan for adding the audible narration to it)  So, I can't make any commentary on the actual "writing".

2.  I've never reviewed an audiobook before, never felt the need.  Any I've listened to in the past, weren't worthy of the time it takes me to put a post together.  So... I'm not sure what the hell I'm doing.

This book was freaking amazing!  The entire thing kept me captivated.  The characters, the small-town atmosphere, the Romeo & Juliet vibe, the *cough, cough* sexy times.

I literally spent 10+ hours straight with earbuds in, taking it all in, loving Delaney, hating Jack, Austin and Wayne, having a damn hot-as-hell love/hate relationship with Ethan.

Ethan, Ethan, Ethan... I already have a book boyfriend.  But he's a dragon... he probably wouldn't mind if I added you into the mix.  Cause you are one "smooth, dirty-talking, panty-wetting, I shouldn't feel this way cause you aren't real, stop giving me mini-O's" son of a bitch.

My Skye Jordan cherry has been popped, and I think I'm addicted.  I'm on the fence on whether or not I should binge all of her books now or bide my time and space them out.

(My husband recently had back surgery and is on the mend, so it may be a good idea to space them out)

Crazy Book Porn Confessions #3: Island of the Cavemen: The Mammoth Lord's Broodmaiden by Fannie Tucker

Kumiko Lei     Crazy Book Porn Confessions, Fannie Tucker, Island of the Cavemen, Review, The Mammoth Lord's Broodmaiden     No comments

My Guilty Pleasure:  Crazy Book Porn

Some of it I love, some I find amusing, some are so weird I can't help but like it, and some just leave me confused and wondering why.

I read Crazy Book Porn and these are my Confessions.

Sacrificed to a tribe of hulking barbarians, an innocent young woman chosen to bear their leader's child must overcome her fears to sate his wild lust.

On a remote island shrouded in fog and lost in time, a clan of fishermen lives under the constant threat of their savage cousins. The Hunters take what they want, and the clan's young women are the price of peace. Chosen to bear the Mammoth Lord's heir, young Laya is taken to a secret valley, where she must find the strength to endure a hulking brute's raging desire.

Another Amazon Freebie... (by the way, it's not free anymore)

I've been having a tough time, reading wise.  It seems like everything I see is lackluster, so what better way to get back into the swing of things than to pick up something short, quick, dirty and weird.

I had it in my head that this was "Huge Dick Impregnation of a Virgin", which, technically it was.
But... eh... I don't know.

The "Hunters" don't speak English, but the "Fishermen" do.  So there is this language barrier.  But when an old wrinkly crone picks YOU out of ALL the virgins, by playing with your twat, you pretty much know what that means without words.

So... off we go, carried fireman style over the Mammoth Lord's shoulder.  We get marked as fertile, we get fed and we get taken to a cave.

Now, Laya is a strong virgin.  She knows what has to happen and she's just going to get it over with, because it's for the greater good.

The Mammoth Lord, well, he's mammoth.  His dick is the size of a mammoth's tusk, or so it was described. And he is already so much bigger than her in stature.  I know that if I were a virgin and someone was trying to stick a mammoth tusk in my vagina, I would be petrified, but I think Laya is a little freaky-deaky and wanted that huge thing in her.  I'm not sure she was really afraid, I think she liked it.  Oh, and this massive, mammoth dick, impregnated her, FIRST TRY!  And they knew the deed was done immediately after his release.

Am I overthinking this, yeah, I think I'm overthinking this.  It's freaking weird book porn.  All in all, it was... okay, but nothing real special.

And in my absolute, most honest, perverted opinion, Ginormous Dick + Tight Virgin book porn is the most sacred kind.  (well, until I find another kind that I like better)

Review: Broken Clocks by Danielle Allen

Kumiko Lei     5 Stars, Broken Clocks, Danielle Allen, Diversity, Review     No comments

According to my grandma, a broken clock being right twice a day meant that in any given situation, there are only two opportunities for perfect timing.

I fell for William Grayson in a matter of minutes. The connection between us was undeniable, but our timing was off. I was dating someone and by the time I was single again, he was taken. And a year later, when we finally got together, it was clear that we were soulmates. But circumstances out of our control cut our time short.

We were a little older, a little wiser, when our paths crossed again. I was entering a new phase of independence in both my career and my life. He was growing professionally and moving to a new city. And even though our timing was off, it was still clear that we were soulmates. But for the second time, circumstances out of our control cut our time short.

My grandma was a wise woman, but my love life taught me that there’s no such thing as perfect timing. There’s just timing… Because nothing is perfect. There’s just right now… Because tomorrow isn’t promised.

For as long as we’d known each other, William and I just wanted to be together. It was as simple and as complicated as that.

Have you ever read a Danielle Allen novel? If you haven't, go get one, doesn't matter which one, any of them will do. You'll be hooked.

If you've read more than one, you know that you never get the same thing with any of them. Each one is unique, whether it's the situations, the emotions, or the humor each can hold their own.

Broken Clocks is no different. I've read the majority of Danielle's books and each one touches me differently, but this one.

THIS ONE.

This one had me up and down emotionally, over and over and over again. She finally did it. She made me cry. (and she's probably pretty smug about that)

It's great ya'll. READ IT! Let me try to sum it up a little better.

Broken Clocks. Second Chances. Soul-Mates. Love. Heartbreak. Sacrifice. Sexy. Emotional Rollercoaster. Kleenex Please. NineTwentySeven.
