Dating is hard.
Dating online is hard.
Dating online in your thirties is hard.
Dating online in your thirties after being in a ten-year relationship is hard.
What’s not hard?
Meeting men who aren’t really single.
Having your time wasted.
Receiving unsolicited pictures of genitalia.
Said genitalia.
When did dating become so complicated?
I just want to find a nice, good looking man who replies to my entire text message and doesn’t text me “WYD” every hour. I just want to find a fun loving, intelligent man who doesn’t have a Master’s Degree in Cheating and isn’t fluent in lies. I just want to find a man who is actually the height he listed in his dating profile.
I jumped back into the dating scene with tempered expectations. I didn’t think all the men I would meet were going to be amazing, but I didn’t think so many of them were going to be disasters.

Unsolicited dick pics, cheaters and ghostings. All part of dating in the age of technology. Also, true to life experiences that can be found in this book. Disasters In Dating is one woman's hilarious and sometimes cringeworthy journey back into the dating world.
There is one thing I've come to expect from Danielle Allen's books: The Unexpected.
Each book she writes is unique and this one was no exception. I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about the first part of a "choose your own adventure" because, well, cliffhangers aren't exactly my thing. But, it was a quick read and the rest of my adventure was ready to go rather quickly.
Disasters In Dating was an entertaining, funny peek into the current world of dating that I can vicariously experience since I've been married and NOT dating for the last 13 years.
Desiree meets a lot men, and you'll definitely have a favorite to root for. But when it comes down to two, who will Desiree (you) choose?
#ThisOne or #ThatOne
