✰ Author Guest Post ✰ Eva Lefoy

Kumiko Lei     Author Guest Post, Eva Lefoy, Gifted to the Goatman     1 comment

So the thing is, writers tend to listen to their imagination – a lot. And they take it seriously. Like, they write down what pops into their heads. Then, they often but not always share it with other people who either like it, don’t like it, or never even see it. That’s the publishing world for you in a nutshell. Well, I’m talking indie publishing.

When you’re working with a publisher your ideas can sometimes get a major scrubbing. We call that editing. Sometimes the results are worth the extra effort. Sometimes it’s a toss up. Also, the author might not have free reign for any and all crazy ideas with a publisher. So it’s necessary to mix things up a bit.

Which is why I’m here today. I’m a major mixer upper!

I’ve written contemporary M/F as well as M/M, I tend to write F/M/F and all sorts of combinations thereof, paranormal, erotic, and at times, humorous. My brain is seriously like a bouncy-ball. What comes out on a day to day basis varies. I like variety!

So far this month I’ve worked on a shifter story, a horrotica piece (with lots of demon sex!), a Loch Ness monster magic piece, and the Goatman, who is pure erotica. I liked writing the goatman. I’m already thinking of writing #2 and including lots of spanking!! Here’s more about it:

Gifted to the Goatman by Eva Lefoy

Every three years Natalia’s tribe gifts a young virgin to the Goatman in the hopes their sacrifice will appease the monster they fear. It’s said the Goatman eats his brides whole, but to Natalia’s surprise it’s not dinner the monster desires. He wants her naked in his bed…

Naughty Excerpt:

Oh my word. She licked her lips and studied the massive horn-shaped human-looking cock pointed straight at her. A little paler than the rest of his skin, it accented nicely the creamy white of the horns atop his head. Except it was tinged with pink and instead of a point at the end, it bore a luscious rounded bulb a shade or two rosier than his shaft. The pronounced curve of his member made her pussy tingle with expectation imagining how wickedly good his shaft would feel within her. It excited her a hundred times more than any human’s cock she’d ever seen.

From her position on the fur pallet she only needed to scoot forward a tiny bit to touch the firm flesh and examine for herself how much pleasure she could obtain. Straightening her spine, she glanced up at Goatman’s eyes and caught her breath at the blast of desire coming from them. No wonder he wasn’t sharpening his utensils.

He doesn’t want to eat me. He wants to fuck me.

A smile curved her lips as she pointedly drew the fur down her body, exposing her breasts and belly. His cock twitched, and a soft grunt issued from his lips but he did not move. Oh yes, he’s definitely interested.

Coming up to her knees, she inched forward. Worry that she might have read him wrong and his desire was merely hunger for her barbequed bones nagged at her, but curiosity made her bold. Besides, the outcome would be one night of hot satisfaction if she was right. What more could a virgin sacrifice hope for except the fucking of her young life? “Is all that delicious cock for me?” she purred, coming closer.

He nodded as though he understood her questions and her heart stumbled over itself. This is what he wants. I was right. As she reached out a shaking hand to touch him, she idly wondered if the other sacrifices before her had taken their turn with him or if she was the only wanton hussy who’d experienced this greedy lust for the Goatman’s cock.

Truth be told, the village men had never interested her. Even at their most rambunctious, they’d seemed merely boys to her, not virile enough to elicit the raw sensuality from her body that she needed in order to feel like a whole woman. But Goatman – primal masculinity radiated from his pores, his easy pose, his take-it-or-leave-it demeanor. The force of his manliness made her womb quiver, eager to receive his molten hot seed. Yet he’d made no move to force her into his bed. He appeared to be waiting for her to act. Well she would show him exactly what she desired. She only hoped he would not make her beg too long before ripping her virginity away with his big monster staff.

Humming happily to herself, she stroked the soft skin of his shaft all the way down and then back up. When she reached the head she grew more daring and scooted forward a little more, letting the fur drop away from her lower body. At his sharp inhale of breath she arched her back and spread her thighs, making it clear she was presenting herself for his pleasure. Then, she lowered her head and wrapped her mouth around his cockhead and tasted his sweet pre-cum. “Mmmm.”

The Goatman will be out soon-ish and I’m already scheming on more books in the series. I’m thinking the second book will involve a horny village lass who wants a Goatman of her own! Of course she’ll get a spanking for being such a bad girl!

If you’re interested in seeing what kinds of whacky ideas pop into my mind next, visit me at the links below. I might show up and give you a treat!

Thanks for having me here today Kumiko. It’s always a pleasure seeing you around the interwebs. Happy reading everyone!!

TBR Jar #4 {Love In The Mist}

Kumiko Lei     2 Stars, Love In The Mist, MacKay's, Review, S.R. Roddy, TBR Jar     No comments

I've been picking them. I've been reading them.

Just not posting, so I've got a few coming if I can stay on track.

Here we go.

Love in the Mist (MacKay's #1) by S.R. Roddy

Dreams are said to be our subconscious thoughts and desires. What then does it mean to dream of someone from another time? Tasha questioned her own sanity, who falls in love in a dream? Then one fate filled night a mysterious man steps out of the mist boldly walking into her world. Will she be brave enough to follow the path fate has set her on or falter at the threshold?

Okay, this caught my attention from the beginning. I was intrigued and interested, which was strange because time travel is not my thing.  Even despite editing issues, I was into it.  But then, it got a little weird.  I understand they are from different times and the times are very far apart, but... they are RELATED.  Or I completely missed a pivotal part of the story that would've fixed that aspect.  And um... he was rather rough with her... and it ended abruptly.

I went from being really into it to cringing.  It just left me confused.

Married with five children, three cats and one very large dog S.R. Roddy lives happily in a small town north of Austin, Tx. She is an ordinary housewife who spends most of her day homeschooling her two remaining teenage children.

From a young age she discovered a deep love for books that has encouraged her vivid imagination and touched her romantic spirit. With the help and support of her family she spends her spare time writing with the desire to share her creativity with other readers like herself.

An avid reader, she will read any genre if she's drawn to the story line. She enjoys a good mystery, but her true love is romance. It doesn't have to be a HEA for her to enjoy it; at times she even prefers it not to be. Historical and paranormal romances have become her favorite over the years, each satisfying a need inside her to experience a new world and adventure.

✰ Author Guest Post ✰ Krysten Lindsay Hager

Kumiko Lei     Author Guest Post, Krysten Lindsay Hager, Landry's True Colors     2 comments

One question I get asked a lot in interviews is what inspires me to write my books. I’m very visual, so looking at pictures in magazines and seeing people on TV and in movies often sparks something in my mind. I like to watch biographies on people I know nothing about and then I jot down one or two little characteristics that stand out to me. I keep them in a notebook and then I go back and look at what I wrote down to see if anything triggers a character idea. It’s easier for me to create a whole new character than it is to base anything on a person I know in real life or on a celebrity.

When I was in college, I had to write a story for a creative writing class. I ended up using two celebrities as my “models” for two of the characters. I didn’t know anything about the one guy in real life, so I bought a biography of him. Problem was, he came off as a super nice guy, but he was supposed to be the jerk boyfriend in my story. So now it was harder for me to write him as a cold, unfeeling guy when I had just read how sweet he was in actuality. Meanwhile, as luck would have it, I ended up going to an event where the guy who was inspiration for my “bad boy with a heart of gold” was at. I had thought he was a very friendly and personable guy from what I had seen in the media and I had no clue he would be at the event I was at. When I got there and heard he was there, I thought it was meant to be…until I saw him in action. He was so arrogant to the people around him. He didn’t walk past his fans, he strutted past them like he was a king with a smirk on his face. If that wasn’t off-putting enough, he totally ignored the kids and fans that were standing there waiting for autographs. It ruined my impression of him, which in turn ruined my character. I learned my lesson then to never, ever use anyone real as a model for a character’s personality.

It’s actually easier and more fun to make up my own characters and then see where they take the story (and me) as I write it. I might use the physical appearance of an actor, singer, or athlete, to help me picture a character in a scene, but I like to use people whose personal life I know nothing about. The last thing I need to hear is that the face of the person who is my character’s sweet boyfriend is actually two-timing his real-life girlfriend. So sometimes I pick people who are known in other countries, but not in the U.S., so there’s less chance of me hearing about them. Sometimes that fails and I do find out little things here and there. Once in a while I will hear or read something that is so much like the character I’ve created that it freaks me out! My family says it either means I’m really on the right track…or I’m a creepy witch with freaky intuition—hahaha! I prefer to think that it’s a sign that the story is going the way it’s supposed to be. But just in case, I often take those odd coincidental parts out because it is a little weird to find out that a scene I wrote months ago played itself out in real life. Apparently that happens to a lot of authors. I guess art really does imitate life sometimes!

The Landry's True Colors Series is a clean reads young adult humor series about friendship, self-esteem, fitting in, middle school and high school, frenemies, crushes, and self-image. It’s clean reads book so it’s suitable for ages 10 and up.

Excerpt from Landry In Like (Landry's True Colors #3)

I wanted to call my friends and tell them about being on the talk show, but Mom said we had to be at the TV station super early — even before school started. She said I could text them, but I had to turn off my phone and go to bed.

“I’m waking you up at four a.m.,” she said. “You have to be there at five-thirty.”

“Can I just call Peyton and Ashanti? Please?”

“Fine, but you have five minutes and then that phone is mine and you’re in bed.”

I dialed Peyton, but her mom said she was in the shower. I told her mom about the show tomorrow and said my mom wouldn’t let me stay up any later to call Peyton back.

“How exciting! I will make sure Peyton knows, and I will be watching you tomorrow. Good luck, honey,” Mrs. Urich said.

I called Ashanti next and told her.

“Get out. Get. Out. No way. This is so exciting!”

“I’m so nervous. My stomach is already doing cartwheels. I can’t do one, but my stomach can. Seems unfair. What if I throw up before I go on? I did that right before I went on at the statewide Ingénue modeling competition in Detroit, and my mom had to give me a cough drop to cover up the smell.”

“I’m sure you’ll be fine, but… just in case, take a cough drop with you,” Ashanti said. “Good luck. You’ll be great and I’ll go set the DVR now.”

I hung up and sent a text to Vladi, India, Devon, Thalia, Tori, and Ericka, so no one would be mad and feel left out. Then I shut off my phone. Mom poked her head in the door to make sure I was in bed.

“Night, hon. Try to get some rest,” she said.

Easier said than done. I stared at my ceiling while thinking about all the things that could possibly go wrong tomorrow. Seeing as the show was on in the morning, I never got to watch it, so I had no idea what the set was like — did it have super high chairs and I’d struggle to get into them? And what if it had those higher stools that were kind of tippy and my rear overshot the seat and I fell off? Or what if the prep questions got lost and the interviewer asked me random things like my feelings on nuclear war or asked me about some foreign political leader who I had never heard of before, and I appeared stupid? Why did I say I’d do this? I tried to get comfortable and it felt like I had just dozed off when I felt my mom shaking my shoulder.

“Rise and shine, TV star,” she said.

✰ Author Guest Post ✰ Melissa Taggart

Kumiko Lei     Author Guest Post, Canvas Of The Heart, Melissa Taggart     No comments

When I was writing canvas of the heart a few years ago. I knew I wanted to show people with disabilities are like most people. We want have jobs, have friends, be in romantic relationships. I decided Lindsey would have a type of cerebral palsy similar to the type of CP I have.

I showed through Lindsey and Jason, the other main character. If people like Lindsey have people like Jason believe in them and help them along the way. We can do anything we can dream of.

Along the way, I wanted to show though you may go through a rough patch in your life you can come out the other side and everything will be okay.

As Lindsey was going through this, she fell in love along the way. Finding Jason, someone who was kind, funny, and let's not forget a hot NR nurse. They started as friends, as the years go on they slowly realize their meant to be together. They marry, Lindsey helps Jason realize his dream of being an artist and pushes him to follow his dream.

Canvas of the Heart is romantic novel about a young woman with cerebral palsy, and how she rises above the term disability through her relationship with friends, family, and above all, the man who becomes her husband.

Funny, sexy and inspirational, the book focuses on Lindsey’s insights, struggles and triumphs, teaching us that those with disabilities can also lead rich, full lives.

Review: An Immortal Valentine's Night (Immortal Future Book 1) by Monica La Porta

Unknown     4 Stars, An Immortal Valentine's Night, Immortal Future, Monica La Porta, Review     No comments

An Immortal Valentine's Night

(Immortal Future Book 1)

by Monica La Porta

BLURB:
The year is 2032, the planet has been ravaged by the Eco Death, humanity is forced to live under domes, and Dante Alighieri High School for paranormal pupils is preparing for the annual Valentine’s Night Party. The seniors have distributed old-fashioned valentine cards, and the Drako Del Sarto triplets are planning their big night out.

Darius has decided it’s time to confess his sentiments to Selene, a cute little vampire from his History of the Occult class.

Arianna and Daniel don’t want to hide their relationship any longer and are getting ready to talk to their families.

Serses has fallen in love for the first time, but he can’t talk about it with anyone else.

The rest of the school is alive with preparations, but not everyone has Love on their mind when it comes to a secret Valentine’s Night Party.

MY REVIEW (4 Stars):

I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review.

This book follows the teenage lives of the Drako Del Sarto triplets at the paranormal Dante Alighieri High School in the year 2032. All grown up now and each one of the triplets has something going on,  Serses is suffering from an unrequited love,  Darius wants to his crush on Selene to be more, and Arianna wants to reveal her relationship with Daniel to everyone.  Regardless of the year and the changes to the world around them, the teenage troubles are always the same - young love, confusing emotions, and fitting in at school.

I thought this book was sweet.  A short cute read just in time for Valentine's Day.  Kudos to the author for also transforming Italy to 2032 with futuristic dome world due to ecological disaster.  That was very interesting  and very creative.   This book is  a good intro to a new series and characters.  I only wish that it were a little longer.  There was so much happening in a short span that I wanted a little more from each storyline.  I am looking forward to the next installment

Review: Playing With Fire (Tangled In Texas #2) by Alison Bliss

Kumiko Lei     3 Stars, Alison Bliss, NetGalley, Playing With Fire, Review, Tangled In Texas     No comments

Playing With Fire (Tangled in Texas #2) by Alison Bliss

Nothing ignites a fire like the perfect match…

Anna Weber is every inch the proper librarian—old-fashioned, conservatively dressed right down to her tightly clipped flaming red hair. She's just moved to a small Texas town, and is determined to spend time with her friend before she has to disappear. Relationships aren’t easy for her. She knows too well what it means to be burned. And the last thing she ever wants to do is fall in love…

Especially not with a fireman who's hot enough to set the entire state of Texas on fire.

Cowboy can't resist the fiery little librarian, and he's determined to make her his. Beneath that prim-and-proper exterior is a woman he very much wants to know—if she'd let him. She'll test his patience. His control. Hell, his very sanity. And for the first time, Cowboy wonders if he's found the one fire he can't control...

My Review

*Copy received from Netgalley for review purposes.

I pretty much figured I was going to like this from the very beginning.  And I did.  I loved the dichotomy between Cowboy and Anna, and I very much enjoyed seeing the characters from the first book again.

There are funny moments, even if they are a bit over the top, I love them no less.  It made me laugh, and well, who doesn't want to laugh?

I did take issue with the constant reminder of Cowboy's "playboy" reputation and it being thrown in his face.  Something was bugging me the whole last part of the book and I can't quite put my finger on what it was exactly.  It absolutely could be residual from the playboy reputation thing, but whatever it was rubbed me wrong.

For what it's worth, I still enjoyed the book a great deal and it is well worth the read.

Alison Bliss grew up in Small Town, Texas, but currently resides in the Midwest with her husband and two sons. With so much testosterone in her home, it's no wonder she writes "girl books." She believes the best way to know if someone is your soul mate is by canoeing with them because if you both make it back alive, it's obviously meant to be. Alison pens the type of books she loves to read most: fun, steamy love stories with heart, heat, laughter, and usually a cowboy or two. As she calls it, "Romance...with a sense of humor."

✰ Author Guest Post ✰ Niquel

Kumiko Lei     Author Guest Post, Goodbye With Love, Niquel     No comments

When I originally planned this book, I had every intention of making it a mainly New Adult Novel. I only wanted to write about twenty percent of their childhood and then bring them into adulthood. But, as I started writing the story, the teenage Mickey and Johnny decided they had a lot to say and I loved the way the story took a turn. Sometimes you have a decent plan in your head, but then you fall in love with the voices in there and let them run their course. This novel is a genuine friends-to-lovers story that is guaranteed to make you feel. I was going through a few things when this book came to me, so all the emotion in it is raw and real. Anytime I was mad or upset, I wrote and I think it made the book more believable that way.

I went through about ten different stock photos before I decided to hire real models and a photographer to create what I envisioned, Mickey and Johnny to look like as adults. Lindee Robinson nailed it! I had so many pictures, that I almost bought them all just so no others could have them! Check her out! https://www.facebook.com/LindeeRobinsonPhotography/

Most of this story is told from a Young Adult perspective and this was a huge change for me. My other three novels; A Forbidden Love, An Endless Love, and The CEO are all some variation of erotic romance or suspense. So when I decided to write this, it was completely out of my comfort zone, and it ended up being the longest novel I’d ever written.

This story literally came out of nowhere. I never had a book just come out of me like this. And as I started before, I normally have a plan even if I end up flying by the seat of my pants writing the entire book. The diary entries were the first thing I thought about because let’s face it, we all were twelve once and I’m pretty sure we had to vent somewhere private. Am I right? I know I did!

I’m so happy that I wrote it and got it out in the world. I had a few people tell me I made them fall in love with an eighth grader and that let me know I did my job as a writer! Thank you to everyone that has enjoyed my babies!

Synopsis:

Michelle

Have you ever wished you could have something so bad, even though you knew it was forbidden?
Jonathan Gates was just that—forbidden. He was everything I could ever want in a man: charming, a great listener, open-minded, and funny. It also didn't hurt that he was easy on the eyes.

We'd been through a lot together: breakups, makeups, firsts, lasts, and anything else you can imagine. I was once told he was my soul mate, but I refused to believe that.
I didn't want to love him.
I didn't want to fall for him because...he was my best friend!

But I did, and I fell for him hard. I was in love with my best friend, and it was time he knew how I really felt.

Excerpt:

MICKEY ROSE’S DIARY
Age: Thirteen
Diary Entry: Life sucks. Life is cruel.

Dear Diary,

Why is it that every time I have something good going for me it gets taken away? I was healthy without any issues at all and then boom—cancer. I found a guy willing to spend time with me because he wanted to, then I fall for him and boom—he’s gone. I feel horrible about his uncle, but what about me? How am I supposed to go on? What if he gets down there and only sends me one pity letter, falls for some hot girl there, and completely forgets about me? I don’t think my heart can take this kind of pain, not from Johnny.

I feel like all the air is being pushed out of my lungs and now I’m stuck gasping for air, wanting him to come back.

I love you too Johnny, I just wish I’d said it sooner. Please don’t forget about me.

✰ Author Guest Post ✰ Rachel Dunning

Kumiko Lei     Author Guest Post, Debt, Rachel Dunning     No comments

As with all my books, the title for “Debt” only came to me at the end. The early draft was simply called “New Story” (which is different to my usual “Current Story”). In fact, the folder on which all the versions of this story sit on my computer is still called “New Story.”

Then, just before the final draft, the book was going to be called “Logan” (which is the Debt Collector’s real name), but that reminded me too much of the “Johnny” series I wrote and, factually, it wasn’t grabbing enough for me.

The name “Debt” is perfect, actually perfect, for the story, but I only realized this in retrospect. I’d love to tell you that it came to me in a blitz of inspiration, but it didn’t.

It came to me when I was designing the cover and there was just a little space on the left of Logan’s headshot and I needed a small word.

The story was already about debt (but not the financial kind) and how debts to other people wrap you up in promises you can’t keep and, ultimately, pain you can’t run away from, which is what brings our two characters together and keeps them together.

Well, I went with it, saw how it looked on the cover...

Then I looked over the story. My goodness, I felt like an idiot, an idiot for not thinking of that title sooner. I mean, the theme was everywhere. Maybe the reason it came to me was hidden in some recess of my mind I wasn’t fully aware of but I can’t take that much credit for it. It was one of those lucky things that don’t happen often.

Of course, after coming up with the title “Debt” I immediately considered calling it “The Debt Collector” but something about that title didn’t do it for me. The story of “Debt” is about love, loss, passion, romance. I felt “The Debt Collector” hints a little too much at the full-blown erotica genre which I try and stay just short of in my writing. I didn’t want to let people down by giving them the wrong idea for the book. “Debt” is strictly a New Adult Romance with a strong sports theme. It’s about two people who are from opposite sides of the social structure and which yet fit together perfectly. They are not opposites, even though they look like it from a casual glance.

It is an extremely romantic story with plenty of angst and drama and action. Y’know, like I usually like to do in my stories. ;)

Debt is scheduled to release March 30 and is on SALE for preorder at .99!

The Debt Collector

I pay my debts, and I expect others to.
I was raised in the slums of London, I knew nothing of privilege. My father was murdered when I was seventeen. Morty figured my father's passing meant I would automatically take on dad's debts. I refused.
And I paid for that refusal.
So did my sister.
So now I fight. All I know how to do is fight. The best cash is in the states, so that's where I am now. A big fish called Vito came along offering me a "favor" when I arrived.
Another debt.
I paid for that one too.
I knew Kyla Hensley would be trouble when I met her. But I wanted her. I could see through the falsehood of her wannabe-slutty clothes and her sexy legs. So I chased her.
Besides, trouble is my middle name.

Kyla Hensley

I was brought up in privilege, but I lacked everything else. My father is a business tycoon who buys and sells and doesn't care who gets rolled over in the process.
I never knew my mother, and all I have of her is a photo with a note scrawled on the back in French saying "I'm sorry." The only Female Figure I had growing up is my dad's wife who is a bleach blond with seven boob jobs. We never bonded.
I drink. I party. I meet guys.
But I wasn't always like that.
I've had a string of lovers in the last few years, the worst and most recent of which was Vince Somerset. My best friend Vera was dating a guy called Rory Cansoom who is the opposite of Vince in so many ways, and yet so the same.
She and I hit the road for the summer, getting away from the two college psychos and just trying to have some fun.
But there's a funny thing about trouble, the more you run from it, the more it finds you. Which is when I met the Debt Collector.
It was only supposed to be sex. He made that clear. I made that clear.
That's all it was supposed to be.
I never expected to fall in love. I never expected to fall so deeply, madly, uncomfortably in love with a man who is wrong, so wrong for me.
And yet...so unbelievably right.

Rachel Dunning hit the scene in August 2013 and is the author of the highly praised Naive Mistakes Series, Truthful Lies Trilogy, Johnny Series and the paranormal romance series, Mind Games.
A prolific writer, she sticks to stories where Alpha Males aren’t pricks and where women have guts.
She’s lived on two different continents, speaks three different languages, and met the love of her life on the internet. In other words, romance is in her blood.
