Review: All Things Pretty (Pretty #3) by M. Leighton

Sarah      5 Stars, All Things Pretty, M. Leighton, Pretty, Review     No comments

Pretending to be something they’re not, afraid to trust anyone completely, destined to tear each other apart– this is the story of unlikely love and unbearable consequences.

Sig Locke is a cop. He was raised by a cop and all his brothers are cops. He bleeds blue, believes in right and wrong, and sees in black and white, never in shades of gray.

But that was before he met Tommi.

Tommi, with her long legs and bright green eyes, she captured Sig’s interest from the moment he saw her. Even after he discovered who she was–the girlfriend of a drug dealer, the beauty behind a criminal–he still found her utterly irresistible. What Sig doesn’t know, however, is that she has a secret even a cop can’t uncover.

Tommi Lawrence hasn’t had an easy life, and it only got more complicated the day she met Sig. She learned long ago that she can’t trust anyone. Her gut tells her that Sig is no exception, her heart tells her that he is. But that was before she found out his real identity.

Can love be forged in a fire of lies? Or will the truth destroy them both?

*Complimentary copy received for review purposes.

First and foremost, I love this book because it was written by M. Leighton. This lady is awesome. She is such a wonderful author to interact with and truly appreciates all the love and support she gets. She is a true southern belle that isn’t pushy or overbearing. God has truly blessed her with a loving husband to help give her inspiration in her stories and support everything she does. I am so honored to say that I’ve met her and that I am a frequent M. Leighton stalker. (Only on social media)

For the story, I gave it 5 stars. This is a two part story and to get part 2, you must subscribe to M. Leighton’s newsletter for second part because of her contract that she signed when she did Sig’s story. Michelle stated that she felt like she couldn’t get it all out in that short amount, so she made it two parts, the second part which is free.

Sig Locke was born and raised a cop. He has always done by the book and by the law. He does not act above the law. Until Tommi came around…

Tommi caught Sig’s attention as a damsel in distress. A chance meeting Tommi was once in a lifetime, even after he discovered who she was involved with (a drug dealer), he still couldn’t resist her. But what is Tommi hiding? Will be being a cop pan out and help Sig solve the mystery of Tommi?

Tommi Lawrence had a rough upbringing. It only got more complex, the day she met Sig. She trusts no one. Her heart says trust him, her gut says that no matter what, Sig is no exception to trust anyone. Can love shine through all the lies or will the truth be the end of All Things Pretty.

I love how in M. Leighton’s books she tells the story from both characters POV, giving you insight into Sig & Tommi’s feelings & emotions. It’s important to know how they both feel and what each person is hiding to see who tells the truth. The hot and steamy scenes are so realistic. You can picture yourself as Tommi and what is being done. I love how no matter what tragedy the characters face, there is usually a happily ever after. But at this point, it’s a cliffy until book 2 comes out. What I have read so far, I love Sig & Tommi and I can’t wait to see what happens with both of them. As always M. Leighton doesn’t disappoint, she always exceeds my expectations. I will definitely pass on to all my friends that I’ve shared the rest of the Pretty Series with.

Review: Facade (Deception #1) by Ker Dukey & D.H. Sidebottom

Sarah      5 Stars, D.H. Sidebottom, Deception, Facade, Ker Dukey, Review     No comments

WARNING! This book is Dark erotica. This book contains situations that some may find offensive. If you are sensitive to graphic violence read with caution. This book also leads into a second book. You will get answers but the story will continue into a final installment. You have been warned. Enjoy.

You meet someone. You date. You fall in love. You marry.
The four simple rules of love….
Wrong! I’m getting married but I’d never met him before now, never dated him, never fell in love. I have no access to the memories of the most magical time of anyone’s life.
My mind won’t allow me to evoke the past, I can’t remember those simple stages to lead me to the fourth .

I can’t comprehend why I would have ever wanted to marry someone like Dante. I should never have passed the first stage, although, I may have seen him through the eyes of the woman I once was, this me that lives, breathes here now, can’t understand how we made it to the next stage. I’m not sure, without memories, how I know that this voice inside me, telling me I would never have chosen him, speaks some truth, I just know. He’s controlling, arrogant, callous and violent, and utterly hell bent on humiliating and degrading me – Like watching me falter, watching me struggle to comply and be the woman he asked to marry, powers him- as though he wants to break me piece by piece. Fiber by fiber. Until all that’s here is the shell he created from a soul that I once owned.

Now my memories are slowly returning. And they show me a completely different side to meeting him. Our dates, falling in love. The Dante haunting me in the shadows of my mind is loving, gentle and utterly enamored with me, nothing like the man with me now. And this is what taunts me. My tender lover turned into a debauched, cruel sadist who is determined to consume my life, destroy my mind and murder my spirit.

I am, Star, and just like with some stars in the sky, the light you see is an echo, a façade, I am already gone.
I am a no one.
Especially to him. To him I am the dark in his desires, the corrupt in his depravity.
The sin in his immorality.

*Complimentary copy received for review purposes.

So the more dark erotica I read, the more intrigued I am. I never thought I would enjoy something so dark and cryptic. But like Star, maybe you don’t really know what it is that you like. I gave this book 5 stars. I am going to summarize it without spoilers then tell you why I loved it so much.

If Dante is Star’s fiancé, how did she get to this point? What led her to this point? How would you feel waking up finding out you can’t remember something as simple as your favorite color, what your name is, what food you enjoy eating? The heart never lies. Her inner voice keeps telling her that this is not who she chose. She thinks her heart is happy and it belongs to someone but is it Dante?

Dante is a control freak, fierce, Star's debasement is his number one goal. Little by little, Star is breaking down. Is it because she is remembering or being degraded at every turn? The memories that are returning of Dante, are not the monster that Dante has become. He was kind, loving, everything she desired in a man.

Ker Dukey has done it again. Just when you think you have the whole story figured out, what a total mind-blowing outcome. I keep thinking, ok what am I missing? Have I finally figured it out? Was he all those sweet things that she remembered and something has changed him forever? Just as stated above in synopsis, this is a dark erotica novel and if you are sensitive to graphic violence, read with caution. You will get answers and it does lead into another installment. Answers to your questions will come but will you get everything you need to tide you over to BOOK#2?! I cannot wait for book#2 to see how the story will complete. I kept thinking Star was dreaming and she was going to wake up and everything was going to be a lie, boy was I wrong! I hope you enjoyed this book as much as I did. I promise Ker Dukey and D.H. Sidebottom will not disappoint.

Review: Ecstasy Claimed (Guardians Of The Realms #2) by Setta Jay

Kumiko Lei     4 Stars, Ecstasy Claimed, Guardians Of The Realms, Review, Setta Jay     No comments

Gregoire has spent centuries with his brother Guardians fighting for the safety and security of the Realms. Endless decades of battling mixed with bouts of mindless sex to sate his needs. Needs that haven’t truly been fulfilled since she was born. The one destined to be his bonded mate. For the last twenty five years Gregoire has kept his distance giving her time to grow into a female who is capable of handling his intense dominance.

Alyssa has done everything that was expected of her, until the day she finds out she has a mate who has left her unclaimed. Unheard of when mates are rare and coveted. Even worse is the fact that he is the most powerful of her race and a Guardian of the Realms. Furious at the rejection she decides she is now in charge of her life. No more will she allow others to rule her.

Against the backdrop of evil forces that are conspiring to topple the Realms, can Gregoire find his wayward mate before she is taken by corrupt Immortals? Can Alyssa forgive him and learn to exert her own female power while surrendering to his savage passion? And will the two of them be able to forge a mate bond that cannot be severed... or will they be forever cursed with an Ecstasy Unclaimed?

Warning – Dirty talking, possessive alpha male; scenes of sexual exhibition; an instance of f/f; spankings and more

Obviously, if you haven't read Ecstasy Unbound, go get it and read it.  This is Book 2 and you don't want to skip around and miss stuff!

This one started off a little slow for me, but it picked up pretty quickly once the girls got to Paradeisos.  Yeah, Paradeisos... Can I go there?  That is definitely a place I'd like to take a vacation.

Gregoire and Alyssa, they are hot together and its great the way they play off of each other.  He's so damn possessive and as much as she doesn't want to Alyssa kinda likes it.  They were made for each other (duh!).

I just love watching these Guardians fall so hard for these women.

Erik and Sam were breaking my heart and I'm so glad to see where they are now.

There is so much going on, not enough to throw you off, but enough to keep you enthralled.  You get your love story with your HEA, but you also get the great paranormal element and the ongoing story of good vs evil that flows throughout the series.

I am loving the way each of the girls is finding a way to make the Mating Ceremony their own.  And the power shift on the "evil" side is intriguing.

Setta Jay writes a sex scene like no one else.  I learned my lesson with Ecstasy Unbound, so I do NOT read these around other people.  This one was no exception.  The scene in Paradeisos was scorching.

I was so into this, when I finished I jumped right in to Denying Ecstasy.

I am a binge reader.  I admit it.  I am not ashamed.

This has quickly become one of my favorite series.  I will be waiting (impatiently) for Drake's book.

Do you hear me Setta Jay?  I need Dragon Sex!!!!

(If I could've found a really good gif, it would be here -- but I don't think most people appreciate the dragon sex pictures I find)

Review: Hidden Heart (Windy City #1) by Measha Stone

Sarah      4 Stars, Hidden Heart, Measha Stone, Review, Windy City     No comments

Royce Blandford follows a promotion to Chicago, because when he wants something- he gets it. He’s a man with determination.

And after one evening with Jessica, he’s determined to claim her as his.

Jessica is perfectly content keeping relationships casual. She’d rather fall in lust than love. And one glance at Royce- she’s definitely in lust.

But Royce doesn’t kiss and bail. Jessica may try to hide behind a thick wall, but he senses the fires burning hot. If he has to break through kiss by kiss, he will.

*Complimentary copy received for review purposes.

Jessica Stanley has found her normalcy in her job as a paralegal at a hot shot law firm. “No man is out for true love, they are only good for one thing.”

She didn't expect the domineering Royce Bradford to come strolling into her life. Royce exercises control in all things, but will one of those things become Jessica? Jessica wants their “arrangement” to only be casual and not include love. Royce is not settling for anything less than what he desires. Will Royce be able to break down the ice around her broken and shattered heart?

I liked this story because of all the horny details. This is book one in the series and I feel like you have to be intrigued by a book to want to continue on with a series. Yes I was intrigued into this series because I feel like information was missing. I don’t know if what I felt was missing is information to come later on in the series or not. I felt like the book jumps forward a lot without a lot of details. Sometimes less is best, but sometimes every single little detail helps lay it out more. I felt like the beginning of a new chapter was leading into something else, when I was still trying to figure out where I was standing from the previous chapter. I am looking forward to seeing what’s to come in the rest of this series because Measha always brings out what I love best in my dark side. I am hoping they are even more exotic scenes in book 2, because her dark side is very vivid and realistic.

Review: Triquetra (Celtic Knot #3) by Cassy Roop

Sarah      5 Stars, Cassy Roop, Celtic Knot, Review, Triquetra     No comments

Dominic Michaels has survived falling in love for the first time, having his world shattered, and then finding that love again. What happens, though, when that love also loves someone else?

Ashley Woodson finally fought and won against the people keeping her and Dominic apart, but what she soon learns is that she now has to fight her own heart when feelings for another man have developed during her time apart from Dominic.

With a baby on the way, will Dominic be able to show Ashley they are meant to be or will she choose the man to which she owes her life?

With the past behind them, Ashley and Dominic still face obstacles. Will their connection be strong enough to keep the ropes of their love together, or will it unravel leaving them both broken once again?

*Complimentary copy received for review purposes.

So before reading this, if you have not read Ashley’s Bend & Figure Eight, do not bother reading this book. Read those 2 first, and then begin. Okay, so I have been waiting to see what was going to happen with Dominic & Ashley from book 1. I have been left with 2 cliffhangers. But I finally got closure to this series. I gave this book 5 stars because of the suspense, love, and hot scenes. I love how I am able to perfectly picture each scene that Cassy describes in such full detail.

Can you imagine being in love with 2 men? That’s what Ashley battles in this book. She has fought to get Dominic back after she was worried she would lose him forever. With a baby in due time, who will Ashley choose? Will she choose the one that her heart belongs to or the one that she owes her life? Do you love someone because you feel sorry for them and want to be there for them because they were there for you or is it more to it than that? All these choices Ashley is faced with, but which man will she end up with?

Dominic is the dominant that Ashley fell in love with at first sight from the very first night. He exudes masculinity and dominance in everything he does. But he will show his soft, gentle, loving side that he claims he doesn’t have.

Rownan is the one that has been by her side through all the blackmail and deceit she has shown to her friends and lover Dominic. He has been her rock and crying shoulder to absorb all the hurt she has caused herself and to the ones she loves to protect them.

I highly recommend this series and reading them in order. I cannot wait to see what Cassy has in store for us in Kelly & Knox’s story. Their story hasn’t even begun yet.

Mia Lee, changes her name to Paige Cassidy to hide from her past.  She gets on a Greyhound bus and heads from LA to South Boston, VA.  While saving up money by working two jobs in South Boston, she is on a hunt to find her mother, who abandoned her at the age of three.  But will South Boston only be a temporary stop when she finds four people who will change her life forever?

Paige meets Tristan and Quinn.  In a small town where everyone knows everyone, you either know everybody, or are related to them.  Who will be Paige’s rock and the person she is drawn to?  The good guy Tristan who is honest and upfront with information he doesn’t share with just anyone.  “Sometimes it helps to share information with a complete stranger.”  Or the bad boy Quinn, who also has his own secrets?

I really liked this book because first of all, I am from Virginia and have family that live in South Boston.  So this story really feels like home.  I can so relate to how everyone was so nice to Paige, something she was not used to.  This is the feeling of living in the south.  I just think it’s so awesome that out of all the areas for her to land in, I knew exactly where it was.  This book is definitely not x-rated, but did have some hot scenes.  I liked the feeling this book gave, that made me feel "at home."  I could picture a lot of these scenarios taking place.

Personally I always prefer the bad boy.  So I would choose Quinn.  This story definitely will have you on the edge of your seat with the suspense of Paige’s decisions and the journey she goes through.  The people that she does come in contact with, 4 of them are very special to her.  I wouldn’t say that this is a cliff hanger but it gets really good and then stops to lead you into the next book.  I am dying to read Something like Redemption to see where the story leaves off.

Review: Teasing Hands by Elena M. Reyes

Sarah      5 Stars, Elena M. Reyes, Review, Teasing Hands     No comments

The hands kneading my flesh into submission are strong, yet gentle. Rough yet tender. His talented fingers dig deep into my naked flesh applying the perfect amount of pressure, bending me to his will.

His will which now entices me and burns itself into my every pore, ruining me for any other’s touch—but his. Once a stubborn and independent woman, I find myself wanting to submit; to give him all that I am and power over everything I can be with his guidance.

Camden Daniels has a voice full of sin built to destroy my mental walls. The dulcet sonnet of his tone controls my resolve with but a single utterance from his lips:

"Undress for me."

*Complimentary copy received for review purposes.

Amanda Brooks is the daughter of a city council member, a women’s college basketball player, and a client of the spa to which Camden Daniels works. Camden’s hands were magical, “strong but gentle, and rough yet tender”, which gave her body the ultimate relaxation to submit her body to his dominance. After her first massage appointment, “I haven’t felt this relaxed in ages.”

Gatita, the nickname he gave her, which means tiny kitten in Spanish. The words he uttered “Undress for Me” was her undoing. But will he allow her to be anything other than just a client to him?

I loved this book because of the dominance and masculinity that Camden exudes. I long and thrive for these characteristics in men. I love how they worship the ground that their woman walks on and they would do anything in their power to make them theirs and make them happy. But is that what Camden does for Amanda or will she just remain a client? I love all of Elena Reyes’s work and between her and N. Isabelle Blanco, they have really introduced and had me diving head first into Erotica. I love being able to sit down and read their stories in one sitting and then being so hot and bothered that I want to go attack my husband. This book will have you longing for Camden’s teasing hands and you will be asking your loved one for a massage. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did and pass on the love for Elena’s work. She is awesome and I love her. I want to take credit in giving her visual inspiration as she went through the journey of writing Camden’s story. Every day, I was offering pictures of encouragement to help inspire her to finish this story faster.

Review: Harkham's Case (Harkham's #1) & Harkham's Choice (Harkham's #2) by Chanse Lowell

Sarah      4 Stars, 5 Stars, Chanse Lowell, Harkham's, Harkham's Case, Harkham's Choice, Review     No comments

Adam Latham looks like any other charming, good-looking high school senior, but underneath, there’s a lot more to him than anyone could ever guess. He has an uncontrollable need for constant touch to ground him, to keep the numbers from invading his brain when anxiety gets the better of him.

When Adam resolves to finally complete high school and get his diploma, the social demands amongst his younger peers prove to be much more challenging than he’d imagined.

Lucky for him, his first class holds Marissa Cole, and she’s willing to let him hold her hand so he can keep control. Adam’s family sees him as a danger to himself if not strictly regulated, but to Mari, he’s a boy with the most pure soul—one so intriguing, she can’t resist him, and he quickly steals her heart.

How will she cope when he invades her world and turns her life upside down, unearthing her own past traumas and issues? Will Adam find a way to help her find peace and forgiveness through love, or will their own problems keep them apart?

*Complimentary copy received for review purposes.

Harkham’s Case is book 1 in the Harkham’s Series. Adam Latham is the sweet, quiet, sexy man that yearns for constant touch to keep him sane. The connection he feels blocks out “the numbers” that are intruding in his head.

Will Adam finally get to graduate high school? Adam’s first class has Marissa Cole, someone willing to help Adam by allowing him to hold her hand. Adam thinks that Marissa has saved him, but is his pure soul saving her? But he stole her heart without her trying to give it away. They have become closer than anyone could have imagined, but who doesn’t want them to be together the most?

Will Adam be able to show her the light and help her be at peace with her past? Will Mari be able to move forward because of Adam or will she do it all on her own? Will their differences bring them closer than ever or split them up for good?

I really liked this story because of my medical background; I was immediately trying to figure out what type of disorder Adam had. All my family and friends are always asking what I’m reading currently and when I begin to proceed to tell them about the character’s personality and behavior. I’m asked “well, what’s wrong with him?” I feel like I’ve met people with similar behavioral traits. Adam craved the skin to skin contact with Mari as a baby would crave it with their mother because of the way it feels like home. I personally have separation anxiety and cannot stand to be alone for extended periods of time. I crave to have physical contact as well. Chanse did an awesome job creating this story and it wasn’t really left as a cliff hanger, but you were begging for book #2 to get more of Adam and Mari.

I endured lots of heartbreaking memories from both Adam & Mari’s past. It makes you wonder how did they get to where they are and who will they become.

Adam Latham knows one thing, and one thing only—he simply has to have Marissa Cole as his own. Not as his school mate, or his girlfriend who lives in his family’s house with him. Her. He needs her to be his wife, and he’ll find a way to make that happen, whether or not his medical condition as Harkham’s unresolved case has improved.

His overwhelming need for Mari’s touch continues unabated. Even as her life grows more complicated—dealing with her father’s issues in another state—Adam becomes more determined that they’ll have a life together after they graduate high school in a few short months.

What will he do when he finds out exactly what past abuse Mari’s suffered? How will he handle it when she falls apart in front of his very eyes? He can only hope to contain the numbers that try to consume him and the violet anxiety attacks that follow, on his own.

How will he deal with his unsupportive family members that rally against his relationship with this damaged girl? Is Dr. Harkham the answer to his questions?

Only Adam knows what it means to live with an undefined disability. Until he finds the key that unlocks the secrets to his past mysteries, will he be able to move on and live a full and happy life with his Mari.

*Complimentary copy received for review purposes.

Harkham’s Choice is book #2 and it picks up exactly where Book #1 leaves off. Adam Latham is absolutely sure of one thing, Mari will be his and only his, forever. This book had me on an emotional rollercoaster. It will make you appreciate more of the small things in life. This book explains more about Adam, his condition and how/what triggered “his number episodes.” I am truly amazed at how and where this story has gone; yet, this series is not over yet. I gave this book 5 stars, because it explained so much into both Adam & Marissa’s past. But what will come of their future?

Will Mari’s past show her true demons? Will love conquer all? If Adam & Mari decide to have a family of their own, will the baby have the same disorder as Adam? Will the love of one person be enough to completely shut out all the darkness? Will Adam’s family support Adam & Mari? Who will be the most supportive and who will be against their relationship the most? Family is everything to Adam, something Mari doesn’t know if she can live with?

How does Dr. Harkham have a role in all of this? Is she the provider of all answers regarding Adam’s condition? Is it a disability or a weakness? How would you interpret it? Will finding out the truth about his past make him want to find the one person who he thinks will answer all his questions? Wait and see… I cannot wait for Book #3 to see what Chanse has in store for us. Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to indulge in this series.

Review: Breakdown (Crash Into Me #1) by Amanda Lance

Kumiko Lei     4 Stars, Amanda Lance, Breakdown, Crash Into Me, Review     No comments

Charlotte Ferro is about to jump.

Yet nothing ruins a perfectly good suicide attempt worse than a handsome do-gooder. After William O’Reilly convinces her to take one last ride with him, Charlotte finds herself forgetting about her own problems and enjoying a world of which she never dreamed.

Now addicted to the rush of fast cars and cool criminals, Charlotte finds herself leaning less towards the ledge and more toward the arms of her savior. But with reasons of his own for keeping Charlotte safe from herself, William is reluctant to involve her in his criminal undertakings. Will his career choice keep them apart? Will Charlotte’s painful past?

I read the synopsis for this a long time before I actually read the book, so I had forgotten what the book was about. I usually don't mind this. I like surprises.

This was not a good surprise.

I almost quit reading halfway through the first chapter.  I just kept shaking my head and thinking, I know this author is NOT going to start her book off with a suicide.  Thank goodness I kept reading.  I mean, yes, there was a suicide attempt, but it didn't happen and for that I am grateful.  I don't think I could've handled that.

After I got over that initial hurdle, I was captivated by this book.  I had to know if Billy was going to be able to save Jumper.

Depression and mental illness is a hard thing for people to understand.  Not only for the people suffering with it, but for those around them.  I felt so much for Charlotte while I was reading this.  It probably didn't help that I was in a down mood at that time as well.

I was concerned about Charlotte adding adrenaline junkie to her list of characteristics.  I found myself psychoanalyzing the characters and wanting to mother them and fix them.  It took me awhile to remember that this is fiction and that I had to let it play out.  Once I drilled that into my own head, I relaxed a little and let the story take me.

It was beautiful to watch Charlotte evolve.  Every time she hit a bump in the road and stumbled backwards it tugged at my heart, but she did keep going.  She was getting herself back and, granted, she had to do it, but she wouldn't have without William.  He was her saving grace, but at the same time, he was dragging her into somethings that weren't so great.

The ending was perfect.  I don't think it could've ended any better.

Honestly, I don't know how good of a review this actually is or if it even makes sense.  My thoughts were all over the place while I was reading this book and now, writing the review, they are all over the place again.

This was a really good book and I'm probably not looking at it from the same angle that others will, but there is a love story and there is an HEA.  I am glad I stuck it out through that first chapter and took the time to watch Charlotte and William fall in love.

Written on Her Heart Review

Sarah      Callaway Cove Novel, Paige Rion, Written on Her Heart     No comments

Andi Callaway has dreamed of becoming a published author her entire life.

Ford Delaney has always wanted nothing more than to escape his past.

An opportunity of a lifetime. This is what Andi finds when she returns home to Callaway Cove on summer break. A chance to work for her literary idol Ford Delaney is up for grabs, and she’s willing to risk everything—her boyfriend, her best friends, and her education—to get it.

She’s positive this will be the key to reaching her dreams. But the moment she begins working for the reclusive author, Andi realizes there’s more to him than just a name. As attraction builds between Andi and Ford, she begins to discover consequences must come hand-in-hand with something great—which could loosen control over her tightly wound life. And once romantic sparks fly, Andi’s other relationships start to crumble, Ford’s fame comes back to haunt him, and the heat they generate will either forge a powerful, enduring love or threaten everything she holds dear.

Andi Callaway has always wanted to become a published author since she was young.  Ford Delaney, one of her author idols has a job opening.  She’s willing to put her life on hold to have a chance of a lifetime.  This could be the chance to pursue her life’s goals.  Will Ford be the one to help her get there?

Andi is sure that this job will be the key opportunity to reach her goals.  She doesn’t think she has feelings for Ford.  Is it the admiration or pure attraction?  Is she willing to give up Ford for the fame?  Or will they get their happily ever after?  Just when you think you have it figured out, you don’t.  This is a sweet and clean romance.  I appreciate the opportunity to have read this for review.

I liked this book because it was a sweet romance, and was a HEA.  While I enjoyed it, I just felt like something was missing.  I just couldn't connect enough with the characters.  I don't know if it was because it was book 1 of the series and there is more information to come.  I think from reading some suspenseful novels lately that I was left empty handed and my emotions weren't wowed away.  I would be interested to see what the rest of the series has in store, so I can see if my expectations were set too high for the first novel.
Paige Rion :
  • I like pumpkin spice lattes in the fall, Halloween, and snowflakes.
  • Early morning is my favorite time of day, and I prefer a good sunrise over a sunset.
  • My mother’s my best friend (and I’m not afraid to admit it)!
  • I’m a chocolate fanatic, coffee fanatic, and wine fanatic — overall fanatic.
  • For me, writing is a process that cannot be rushed.
  • I dream of having a point in my life, where I take three months and do nothing but travel to exotic places.
  • My family is the most important thing to me.
  • I love gardening and tend to have a green thumb outdoors , but will kill any indoor plant almost instantaneously.
  • I used to dream of opening a little bakery/coffee shop, where I’d sell books.
  • I used to be anti-Kindle until I got my first one, then I ate my own words because I could never go without one again.
  • My favorite holiday is Easter. Oh, and I’m a big sucker for Valentines Day. I always have been.
  • My favorite color is that particular light green color used for baby clothes. What is it? Sea-foam?
  • I have an obsessive personality, ( I got it honest. Thanks Mom.) but, thank heavens, it seems to be limited only to my work.
